昭和6年（1931）建築の半球ドームと鷲がシンボルのロマネスク様式の建物で、国指定登録文化財。完成以来多くの催しが行われ、現在も講演会の開催や式典、舞踊大会、歌謡大会等幅広く利用されています。過去には太平洋戦争末期に市役所機能が移された時期や、豊橋中央公民館や市民窓口センターとして使用された時期もありました。
